Fun, Flamingoes, 4,000 Runners Expected At 5K Honoring Sandy Hook Teacher STRATFORD, Conn. — About 4,000 runners are expected to take part in the 5th annual Vicki Soto 5K on Saturday, what would have been the Sandy Hook School teacher’s 32nd birthday. Soto, a first-grade teacher, died Dec. 14, 2012, when a gunman shot and killed 20 children and six staff members at the school. Runners come from around the United States to participate in the day, which, despite its origins, is filled with fun and laughter.
