Snow Totals Increasing For Trumbull As Winter Returns Friday Morning

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — It's been a warm week, but don't get used to it. A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Fairfield County from Thursday night into Friday afternoon, with 3 to 5 inches of snow possible.

Thursday will be increasingly cloudy, with a high around 48, according to the National Weather Service. It will also be windy, with gusts as high as 38 mph. A cold front will move across the area, bringing low pressure with it.

A rain and snow mix will develop Thursday night, which will change to all snow early Friday morning. The low Thursday night will be around 30, and the chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

The winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Thursday through 2 p.m. Friday. Snow is expected to accumulate during the morning commute, bringing slippery and hazardous conditions and poor visibility along with it. The high Friday will be near 36, with wind chill values between 20 and 30. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.

Friday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 12 and wind chill values between negative 5 and 5. The northwest wind will be between 13 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

The weekend will be cold and dry. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 25 and gusts as high as 28 mph. Saturday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 9. Sunday will be mostly sunny during the day with a high near 28, and the night will be mostly clear with a low around 14.

Monday will be sunny with a high near 34, but there's a 50 percent chance of snow moving into the area Monday night. That chance of snow continues into Tuesday and Wednesday of next week.
