Moving Up: Danbury Fire Department Veteran Promoted To Captain DANBURY, Conn. — Lt. Bart McCleary, a 30-year veteran member of the Danbury Fire Department, was promoted Monday to the rank of fire captain. Family members and co-workers along with representatives of many other city agencies, including Mayor Mark Boughton, gathered to in City Hall to congratulate him on his promotion.  McCleary brings many years of experience as a firefighter and fire officer to his new position of captain.  He will be starting his new chapter in his career this week on D shift.

Ring, Earrings Reported Stolen From Darien Home DARIEN, Conn. — A resident of Allen O'Neill Drive reported that jewelry was stolen from her home during the holidays, Darien police said.  The complaint was made Jan. 4, but the homeowner said the items were last seen the evening of Dec. 18, police said.  She described the missing jewelry as a pair of “dangle” earrings worth $50 and a gold braided ring worth $500, police said.  The items were taken from a drawer in her bathroom, police said.  The investigation was continuing, police said.

He was 61.  He was born Jan. 30, 1956, in Port Chester, N.Y., and was raised in the Chickahominy section of Greenwich.  Foster attended Hamilton Avenue School, Western Junior High School and Greenwich High School.  He was an avid and competitive athlete who excelled in multiple sports throughout his life.
