Trumbull Voters Re-Elect Incumbents To State Legislature

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Trumbull voters sent Republican incumbents back to the state legislature in Tuesday's election.

In State Senate District 22, Democratic incumbent Marilyn Moore defeated Republican challenger Elaine Hammers.

In House District 122, Republican incumbent Ben McGorty defeated Green Party challenger Angela M. Capinera.

In House District 123, Republican incumbent David Rutigliano defeated Democratic challenger Lino Costantini.

In House District 134, Republican incumbent Laura M. Devlin defeated Democratic challenger Frederick Garrity Jr.

For Registrar of Voters, Democrat Laurel Anderson and Republican William S. Holden were both elected.

For the U.S. House, Rep. Jim Himes, a Democrat, defeated a challenge from Republican John Shaban of Redding, who did not run for re-election to the State House due to his Congressional run.

For the U.S. Senate, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat, won re-election by topping Republican challenger Dan Carter of Bethel. Carter did not seek re-election to the State House due to his Senate run.
