Pemberton Fights Off Challenge, Wins Re-Election As Redding First Selectman

REDDING, Conn. — Democratic incumbent Julia Pemberton beat back a challenge from Republican Eric Witt as she was re-elected as Redding first selectman Tuesday night, according to the Redding Pilot .

She will be joined on the Board of Selectmen by Democrat Leon Karvelis and Republican Michael Thompson, the Pilot said.

Other winners, including many who ran unopposed, are:

Town Clerk: Michelle R. Grande/Democrat and Republican

Town Treasurer: Janice Meehan/Democrat

Board of Finance: Margaret (Peg) O'Donnell/Democrat and Ward Mazzucco/Republican

Board of Education: Gwen Denny/Democrat, Melinda L. Irwin/Democrat and Michael Hoffman/Republican

Board of Assessment Appeals: Frederick Miller/Republican

Board of Assessment Appeals to fill vacancy: Margi Esten/Democrat

Planning Commission: Nancy E. King/Democrat and Diane F. Taylor/Republican

Zoning Commission: Paul R. Scholl/Democrat, Gerald Casiello/Republican and Matthew Lecher/Republican

Zoning Board of Appeals: Elizabeth F. Williams/Democrat, Colleen A. Litoff/Republican and R. Bruce Given/Republican

Regional Board of Education: Mike D'Agostino, Democrat and Chris Hocker, Republican
