Trumbull Police Department Mourns Death Of Veteran Officer

TRUMBULL, Conn. — The Trumbull Police Department is mourning the death of a veteran officer with 22 years of service on the force.

Officer Michael Borucki died after battling cancer since 2013. 

"It is with heavy hearts that the Trumbull Police Department announces the passing of Officer Michael Borucki," the department said in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon. 

"Officer Borucki was an active member of the Trumbull Police Department for over 20 years. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer, continuing to work as recently as two weeks ago. Our condolences go out to his family and friends."

Borucki died on Monday.

The department had hosted a fundraiser called "Beards for Borucki" two years ago to help support the officer and his family. 

A wake will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Nov. 25, at Abriola Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Burial services will follow at Nichols Farm Cemetery, 10 Cemetery Drive, Trumbull.
