The chase began when Stratford officers attempted to stop a Honda CRV that failed to stop for a stop sign on Broadbridge Avenue, police said.

Officers learned that the car had been stolen in Stratford on July 28, police said.

The teenage driver drove through Bridgeport and Milford and eventually ran out of gas on I-95 near Exit 27, police said. The driver, a juvenile who was not identified, was arrested.

Several items found in the stolen vehicle linked the juvenile to recent thefts from cars in the Lordship area of town, police said.

He was charged with second-degree larceny, possession of burglary tools, failure to stop at stop sign, reckless driving, engaging police in pursuit and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

The teen was held on $50,000 court-set bond.
