EASTON, Conn. — A woman reported that her car was broken into and her purse stolen while she walked her dog last week at the Randall Preserve in Easton, police said.
The woman told police that she parked her vehicle at approximately 7:30 a.m. Sept. 25 to walk her dog around the park.
She said there was no one else in the park at the time, she never saw anyone else walking, and did not hear anything suspicious, police said.
While the woman was walking, she was met by another woman, whom she did not know, who asked whether she was the owner of the vehicle in question and said that the window had been smashed, police said.
Upon returning to her vehicle, the woman found the car window broken and her purse missing, police said.
Easton police are investigating.
