Daniel Nelson, 65, of Norwalk, was arrested Sunday after officers observed him driving 60 mph in a 40 mph area on New Norwalk Road, said Lt. Jason Ferraro.

When officers approached the vehicle they could smell alcohol on Nelson's breath, police said.

Nelson subsequently failed the field sobriety tests and was charged with driving under the influence, speeding, and possession of marijuana, which was found in the vehicle, Ferraro said.
