A 24-year-old man who failed to stop for a routine traffic stop was nabbed by police following a chase and a crash in Fairfield County.
Hasan T. Fleming of Bridgeport was arrested Tuesday after he failed to stop for a Fairfield Police officer conducting a routine traffic stop in the area of Commerce Drive and Coolidge Street, said Fairfield Police Lt. Robert Kalamaras.
Fleming engaged officers in pursuit onto I-95 southbound and struck a citizen’s vehicle during the pursuit. Officers were able to take Fleming into custody at the I-95 southbound exit ramp for Mill Plain Road, Kalamaras said.
There were no injuries as a result of the pursuit.
Fleming was charged with interfering with police, reckless driving, failure to obey officer signal, evading responsibility, failure to drive right, and excessive window tint.
He was released on $5,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on August 28.
