On May 31, Jaiden Cirillo, 49, of Alden Avenue, called police to report he was hit by a car backing out of a space at the Villa Avenue Stop & Shop parking lot, police said.

At the same time, a few eyewitnesses also called 911 to report Cirillo had jumped onto the back of the car and had not been hit, police said. Surveillance cameras in the area also caught him jumping behind the car, police said.

He was charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident and misuse of the 911 system. He posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 22, police said.
