The school, which works with special needs children in the Milford area, said the employee was immediately placed on unpaid leave after learning of the accusations.

Milford Police said they were notified of the abuse on Monday evening and contacted school officials that evening.

They then met with school officials early Tuesday to make sure the employee was removed from campus without any issues, said Milford Police Spokesman Mike DeVito.

DeVito said an investigation is ongoing and that he expects an imminent arrest.

"The most important step for us was to make sure the employee was removed from having access to any of the students and they were safe while we conducted an investigation," said DeVito.

Boys & Girls Village CEO Steven Kant said beyond cooperating with the investigation, the full focus of their concerns was to support the wellbeing of the children.

"Boys & Girls Village (BGV) was notified by a parent of a student in our school of charges made against a member of its staff, who is alleged to have exposed himself to one or more of the agency’s female clients," Kent said. "Boys & Girls Village immediately suspended the staff member, notified the CT Department of Children and Families (DCF) and began working with Milford City police to support their investigation of these charges."

He added that the school conducts a full range of pre-employment background checks that are employed prior to hiring an employee at the agency.
