MONROE, Conn. — A New Milford man who was gravely injured after a car struck his motorcycle in Monroe six weeks ago has died of his injuries.
Dan Falls and his wife, Betty, were on Route 25 at 7:15 p.m. July 16, when their motorcycle was hit head-on by Hyundai Sonata that crossed the center line.
Dan Falls died Thursday of his critical injuries. Betty Falls remains hospitalized.
They were "on their way home from a wonderful day at Port Jeff, N.Y.," said a GoFundMe campaign started by Kimberley Falls of Danbury, his daughter-in-law.
"On the way home on their motorcycle, they were struck by a car head-on, leaving them with an abundance of severe injuries."
"As many of you have already heard, an angel has gained his wings. Danny passed away Thursday at 1:30 a.m.," said a post from his daughter-in-law. "The family appreciates all the prayers and love throughout this entire painful process. God bless every single one of you."
Calling hours for Dan Falls will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31, at St. Mary's, 26 Dodgingtown Road, Bethel.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept.1, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Both Danny and Betty Falls were hospitalized at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport in critical condition in the ICU on ventilators.
In an earlier post, the family said Betty Falls was expected to be in the ICU for at least two months with multiple broken bones and internal injuries.
Dan Falls owned and operated F&D Excavating and Falls Fuels, both in Brookfield.
