MONROE, Conn. -- Karen Burnaska, Monroe’s first selectman from 1995 to 2001, has been elected to a one-year term as chair of the Monroe Conservation and Water Resources Commission.

Burnaska succeeds Michael O’Reilly, who has become an alternate member of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Marven Moss succeeded Burnaska as vice chairman of the conservation commission, and Beverly Doyle was re-elected secretary.

Ryan Driscoll was elected treasurer, and Ellie Krevolin and Jeff Fulchino have joined Cynthia Giancaspro as members of the commission.
