Daily Voice Leaders: United Way Of Western Connecticut CEO Kim Morgan

DANBURY, Conn. — United Way of Western Connecticut’s CEO Kim Morgan said her organization is dedicated to helping those in need.

“We’re focused on families that live paycheck to paycheck, and we’re focused on ways to deliver services to those families,” Morgan said.

Her organization has many core initiatives around the Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed population — better known as ALICE.

“They make too much too much to be eligible for a lot of the government-supported programs, and they don’t make enough to ever get beyond a household survival budget,” Morgan said.

Their income is 25 percent to 35 percent less than what they need to get by, she said.

The United Way of Western Connecticut serves 15 towns, including Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Sherman and Stamford.
