Trumbull Heats Up For Spring: How Warm Will It Be?

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — After a blustery and chilly Saturday, it's beginning to look and feel a lot more like spring across Fairfield County on Sunday.

And it will stay that way for the next week, which is, appropriately enough, spring break in many school districts in the area.

Thanks to a high pressure off the mid-Atlantic coast, the weather is dry and unseasonably warm with sunny skies, according to the National Weather Service.

High temps in Fairfield County on Sunday topped 60 degrees, which is 5 to 10 degrees above normal, in most areas with overnight lows in the mid-40s, a few degrees above normal, too, the National Weather Service said.

Highs on Monday will be in the mid- to upper 60s, which is 10 to 15 degrees above normal.

Tuesday should be a few degrees warmer, with highs in the low to mid-70s.

Here is the forecast for the rest of the week:

  • Wednesday will be partly sunny, with a high near 65.
  • Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 60.
  • Friday will be partly sunny, with a high near 55.
  • Saturday will be sunny, with a high near 56.
As happens in spring, temperatures will be warmer inland and cooler along Long Island Sound.
