FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Temperatures will dip below normal in Fairfield County at the beginning of this week, which is expected to be mostly clear with some isolated periods of rain.

Monday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 77, according to the National Weather Service. A northwest wind of 5 to 10 mph will become a southwest wind in the afternoon. Monday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 59.

Tuesday is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 76, though there is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. Tuesday night will also see a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 8 p.m. Otherwise the night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 54.

The sun will be back out on Wednesday, which is predicted to be sunny. The temperatures will still be a bit below normal, when the high will be 76. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 62.

It will heat up a bit more on Thursday, which will be partly sunny, with a high near 82. Thursday night will see a 30 percent chance of showers, but will otherwise be mostly cloudy, with a low around 68.

Friday could see some scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some storms potentially producing heavy rain. Otherwise the day will be partly sunny, with a high near 85. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent.
