FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Now that the nor'easter has moved through Fairfield County, get ready for the temperatures to plunge.

The National Weather Service issued a Wind Chill Advisory for Fairfield County — effective immediately — and running through 10 a.m. Saturday.

"The dangerous wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin," the weather service said Thursday evening. "Expect wind chills to range from 0 to 25 below zero. The coldest wind chill values can be expected Friday night."

Be sure to bundle up — grab a hat and gloves before heading outside.

The advisory is for all of southern Connecticut, as well as southeast New York and portions of northeast New Jersey.

An additional inch of snow accumulation is possible Thursday night. Wind gusts up to 35 to 45 mph will lead to blowing snow and locally reduced visibilities at times, the weather service said.

Temperatures will also plummet into the single digits overnight. The low will be about 5 degrees, with wind chills between -10 and zero late Thursday and early Friday.

On Friday, it will be sunny. But strong winds will lead to blowing snow. And it will be frigidly cold, with a high near 11 and wind chill values between -5 and -15.

On Friday night, expect more blowing snow and a low of about -1. Wind chill values will be between -10 and -20.

Saturday will be sunny and cold again, with a high near 11 and wind chill values between -10 and -20.

It will be even colder Saturday night, with temperatures dropping to a low of -4.

Sunday will see a high of 18 degrees, with an overnight low of about 12 degrees.

A bit of a warm-up will come Monday, with a high near 33 degrees.
