FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The weather in Fairfield County this week is expected to be mostly calm with above normal temperatures, though showers and thunderstorms could potentially hit the area at various times throughout the week.

Monday is expected to be partly sunny during the day, with a high near 84, according to the National Weather Service. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight before 10 p.m., as well as the possibility of patchy fog after 1 a.m. Otherwise, Monday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 70.

The possibility of showers and thunderstorms continues into Tuesday, but mainly the day is expected to be partly sunny. The high will be near 85. Tuesday night will see a slight chance of rain and storms between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., bust mostly it will be partly cloudy, with a low around 70.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 87. There is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Wednesday night will be partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 89. Thursday night will be mostly sunny, with a low around 70. There is a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms on Thursday night, mainly before midnight.

Friday will be mostly sunny, with a high near 86. Friday night is expected to be partly cloudy with a low around 67.
