Another Warm Day For Trumbull, But Cooler Temps, Rain On The Horizon

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn.  — Fairfield County will experience a couple days of warm and pleasant temperatures to start the week before some rain and possible thunderstorms move into the region.

A cold front moving through the region will make temperatures Monday a little cooler than it was on Sunday, but it is still expected to be 10 to 15 degrees above normal, according to the National Weather Service. The high will be near 70 for most of the area, and as high as 75 for some coastal areas. It will be sunny, with low humidity and some gusty winds as high as 25 to 30 mph, which could enhance the threat of brush fire spread Monday afternoon.

Canadian high pressure is expected to build Monday night into Tuesday. Temperatures will drop to a low of around 37 Monday night, and there is a chance of patchy frost Tuesday before 8 a.m. But temperatures will rises again to a more seasonable level on Tuesday, where the high is expected to be around 60. Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.

Those clouds will stick around in the region on Wednesday, when there is a 20 percent chance of light rain in the afternoon. Overall the day is expected to be mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Wednesday night will see a chance of rain before midnight, followed by rain after 4 a.m. The night will be cloudy with a low of around 46 and a 60 percent chance of precipitation.

Rain is likely to continue into Thursday, when the chance of precipitation is 70 percent. The high will be near 61. Rain and possibly a thunderstorm will hit Thursday night, when the low will be around 49. There is a chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday morning, as well, then a chance of showers in the afternoon. The chance of precipitation is 40 percent and the high will be near 58. Friday night will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
