DOT Begins Monthlong Project On 2 Miles Of Route 1 In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. — Over 2 miles of Route 1 will be milled and resurfaced in Norwalk, with the working starting late Sunday, the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing 2.27 miles of Route 1 in Norwalk from the Darien Town Line to Belden Avenue, DOT said. 

The regular work schedule for this project is 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sundays through Thursdays. 

Work will continue through Friday, Sept. 29, DOT said. 

Traffic control personnel and signs will be used to guide motorists through the work zone. 

The milling segment of this project is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 27, through Tuesday, Sept. 12. 

The resurfacing segment of this project is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17, through Friday, Sept. 29. 

No work will occur during the Labor Day weekend from Friday, Sept. 1, through Monday, Sept. 4. Work will resume on Tuesday night, Sept. 5. 

The schedule may be changed or extended due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
