Redding Teen Earns Scholarship To Play Softball At Colgate

REDDING, Conn.-- A local softball player has been awarded a Division 1 scholarship.

She is Lauralton Hall student Christiana Cottrell, daughter of Richard Cottrell and Georgia Cottrell, of Redding.

Cottrell accepted a Division I scholarship to play softball at Colgate University. The official signing ceremony took place  Nov. 9 at Lauralton Hall in Milford.

Division I is the highest level of intercollegiate athletics overseen by the National Collegiate Athletic Association.
