MONROE, Conn. -- A plan to spend $1.7 million improving Masuk High School's main football field won the support of Monroe voters in Tuesday's referendum, according to the Monroe Courier.
The plan to upgrade the field, add another track and other improvements drew support of voters by more than a 2-to-1 ratio, said the Monroe Courier. According to the Monroe Courier, 1,231 voters were in favor while 492 were not.
School officials plan to raise another $400,000 through fundraising to upgrade the field's electrical systems, the Monroe Courier reported.
