Monroe Land Trust Distributes Chestnut Seeds To Students For Arbor Day

MONROE, Conn. -- To mark Arbor Day on Friday, April 29, the Monroe Land Trust and Tree Conservancy and Park Ranger David Solek distributed two American chestnut seeds and planting instructions to 250 seventh-grade students at Jockey Hollow School.

The event also marked Monroe’s recognition from the U.S. Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA for the 12th consecutive year.
