Superintendent Tom McMorran announced that the high school athletic program will run as usual through 6 p.m., but not after that. Student athletes and their families should look for communications from their coaches.

Tuesday's forecast calls for a wintry mix of rain, sleet and snow in the evening. Little or no snow accumulation is expected, but rain could continue into Wednesday morning.

If a family is unable to get to the school for a pick-up, a member o the staff will remain with the children and supervise them until an appropriate person comes to collect them. McMorran said that families should not take that as an invitation to not come get their child, but rather to let families know that young children will not remain unsupervised.

McMorran said that other groups that use school buildings might not want to cancel their activities, so you should look for communications from them. As of 4:15 p.m. the Redding Board of Education remains as scheduled. If the district decides to cancel, an announcement will be posted on the Redding school websites by 6 p.m.
