REDDING, Conn. -- The Redding Board of Selectman will ask the Board of Finance for an additional .44 percent in the town budget, increasing it to $14,222,513, the Redding Pilot reported.
Selectman Leon Karvelis and First Selectman Julia Pemberton made it known at Monday's meeting that taking more state support into account could result in a "negative or flat budget," said the Redding Pilot.
“This does not include some state aid offsets,” Pemberton told the Redding Pilot, “so, [the budget request] could potentially become negative when we look at the revenue side.”
At the start of the meeting the Board of Selectmen initially was going to ask for a half percent increase, said the Redding Pilot.
