WESTPORT, Conn. -- Residents can get an insider's look at the current legislative session without traveling to Hartford on Tuesday, Feb. 7, at the Westport Library.

State legislators have been invited to the "How're things in Hartford" breakfast at 9:30 a.m. in the McManus Room.

They include state Sens. Toni Boucher (R-26) and Tony Hwang (R-28) along with state Reps. Jonathan Steinberg, Gail Lavielle, Adam Dunsby and Tom O’Dea.

This Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce and Connecticut Business and Industry Association forum will be moderated by the WWCC Executive Director, Matthew Mandell.

"Clearly, all eyes are on Hartford with the budget due next week. How we deal with what can only be called a fiscal crisis affects us all,” he said

The forum is a chance for business people and resident to ask "tough questions" for the representatives to address, Mandell continued.

“We all agree that Connecticut's future hinges on growing good-paying jobs and enabling businesses to compete in a rapidly evolving marketplace,” said Steinberg, a Westport resident.

“This forum is an opportunity to discuss how to get the state back on the path to prosperity.”

Boucher represents the towns of Bethel, New Canaan, Redding, Ridgefield, Weston, Westport and Wilton.

Hwang represents the towns of Easton, Fairfield, Newtown, Weston and a portion of Westport.

Steinberg represents Westport.

Lavielle represents the towns of Norwalk, Westport and Wilton.

And O’Dea represents the towns of New Canaan and Wilton.
