Herbst Wins In Trumbull First Selectman Race

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Timothy Herbst won a fourth term as first selectman of Trumbull in Tuesday's election, according to the Connecticut Post.

Republican incumbent Herbst defeated Democratic challenger Vicki Tesoro by 357 votes, according to unofficial results reported by the Connecticut Post.

Other unofficial results show incumbent Republican Town Clerk Suzanne Burr Monaco winning re-election against Democratic challenger Cynthia C. Katske. Democrat Anthony Musto defeated Republican incumbent John I. Ponzio in the race for Treasurer.

Republicans Scott Zimov, Elaine Hammers and Bill Haberlin were elected to the Board of Finance, according to unofficial numbers.

In the race for Board of Education, Trumbull voters elected Republicans Paul S. Lavoie, Marie Petitti, Jeffrey M. Donofrio, Suzanne Testani and Loretta Chory, as well as Democrats Michael Ward and Lucinda Timpanelli, according to unofficial results.

Voters in Trumbull will cast ballots in the race for first selectman as the town's general election is held Tuesday, Nov. 3. Races and candidates on the ballot include:
