Youths Charged With Breaking Into Car In Trumbull

TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Two juveniles were arrested in Bridgeport after a short chase and charged with breaking into cars in Trumbull, police said.

At around 3:50 a.m. Friday Trumbull Police were dispatched to the area of Machalowski Road on a report of a motor vehicle being broking into. Police said two suspects involved ran south toward Old Town Road before police arrived. Bridgeport Police and a Milford Police K9 unit were called in to assist with the search for the suspects.

Police set up a perimeter in the area as the Milford K9 unit began to track the suspects south into Bridgeport. After an extensive track, police said the first suspect was located in the area of Wedgewood Drive and Lakeside Drive in Bridgeport. The second suspect was located a short time later in the same area.

The two suspects, both of whom are juveniles, were charged with third-degree burglary and sixth-degree larceny.

The Trumbull Police Department is reminding residents to remove any valuables from their cars and keep their doors locked.
