Victim Identified In Fatal Norwalk Fire As Probe Continues

NORWALK, Conn. — Norwalk Fire Department officials have identified the victim in a deadly Bettswood Road fire on Sunday morning as a 67--year-old woman, according to The Hour.

Paramedics could not revive Alice Klavun, who died of smoke inhalation, according to the story. Norwalk fire crews rushed to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. after passersby saw flames shooting from bedroom windows on the second floor, The Hour said.

Klavun was an avid knitter and kept parrots at her home, which was filled with debris in what firefighters described as hoarding conditions, The Hour said. 

Items almost reached the ceiling of the home, and firefighters were forced to crawl on top of the debris to find the victim, fire officials said.
