TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Two New York women were arrested Thursday, June 23, in the parking lot of the Westfield Shopping Mall in Trumbull with a large amount of oxycodone pills, according to Deputy Chief Ronald Kirby.

According to Kirby, the department received a tip from the Drug Enforcement Agency that two out-of-state women may be dealing large quantities of oxycodone pills in the area, including in the parking lot of the mall because of its central location.

Officers Greg Lee and R.J. Carlson, of the Trumbull Police K9 Unit, along with agents from the DEA approached the women, Chontee Eaton and Amina Young, both from New York, and began questioning them about what they were doing in the parking lot at 9:30 p.m., Kirby said.

During a search of the women, officers found 478 oxycodone pills, Kirby said. The women are believed to be part of a larger organization.

"It wasn't a take-down type of event," Kirby said. "Instead, the officers walked up and began talking with the women before finding the pills."

Both women were charged with numerous drug violations and are being held on $250,000 bond.
