TRUMBULL, CONN. -- A two-car accident in Trumbull sent two people to the hospital Monday, police said.

The crash occurred on Elm Street near its intersection with Stag Lane, Monroe police said.

Both drivers were taken to Bridgeport Hospital where they were treated for unspecified injuries, police said.

One of the drivers was issued a summons for failure to yield the right of way, police said.

Responding to the scene were the Monroe Volunteer Fire Department No. 1, the Stepney Fire Department, Monroe police, and Monroe Volunteer Emergency Medical Service.

Elm Street was closed for about an hour while the accident scene was cleared, police said.
