Trumbull Town Clerk, Husband Injured In Car Crash

In an email to town employees, First Selectman Tim Herbst said that the couple were rushed to the hospital where they were treated for their injuries following the accident on Church Hill Road, the Trumbull Times reported. The two were reportedly awake and alert, though Herbst said in his email that they would face a long road to recovery, the Trumbull Times reported.

Updated, 12 p.m. TRUMBULL, Conn. -- The two people injured in a car crash in Trumbull Wednesday night were Town Clerk Suzanne Barr Monaco and her husband, Domenic, according to the Trumbull Times.

TRUMBULL, Conn. — Trumbull police were investigating a two-car crash Wednesday night on Church Hill Road that sent two people to the hospital, firefighters said.

Two people had to be extricated by emergency workers from one of the cars, officials said. In a post on Facebook, Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 officials said they responded to the crash, along with Trumbull Center, Long Hill, police and EMS members.

The accident happened along Church Hill Road between Edison Road and Taits Mill Road, fire officials said.

There was no word on the condition of the two sent to the hospital.
