Certified police officers need to have a minimum two-year certification in good standing with their current department, or retired in good standing, possessing a current Connecticut P.O.S.T.C. police officer certification status.
Trumbull is participating in the Connecticut Post Chief's Association testing consortium. You must register on policeapp.com and take the appropriate written examinations for either the entry level or certified applicant. The minimum passing score for the written exams is 70 percent by Sept. 1.
All applicants must also obtain a valid physical fitness CHIP card by Sept. 1 prior to submitting their application. CHIP information can be found on policeapp.com.
