Christine Pelletier, 34, of Stratford Avenue, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and second-degree identity theft, police said.
She was held on $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 18.
The investigation started in November 2016, when the victim reported her wallet stolen after she made a purchase at Dunkin Donuts on Black Rock Turnpike, police said.
Bank of America alerted the victim to suspicious activity on her card, including several transactions at the Stop & Shop in Stratford, police said.
Police used surveillance video and the Connecticut Intelligence Center to identify Pelletier, who was recognized by a Bridgeport officer. Police issued a warrant for her arrest on March 17 and she was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Friday.
A good samaritan found the wallet in a trash can and returned it to the victim.
