Police: Four Charged With Assaulting Man With 20-Pound Rock In Monroe

MONROE, Conn. — Four people were arrested and one victim was admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital as a result of a fight Sunday that involved the use of a 20-plus-pound rock in a driveway on Hattertown Road, the Monroe Courier reported.

John Best, 37, of Fairfield, who struck the victim in the head with the rock, was charged with first-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, the Courier said.

Also arrested and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace were Jesenia Dejesus, 38, of Monroe and Tiffany McNeill, 35, of Stratford, the Courier said. William Bantle, 36, of Stratford was charged with conspiracy to commit third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace, the story said.
