EASTON, Conn. -- A Bridgeport man who told his family he had dumped the family dog somewhere in Easton or in New Milford has been charged with animal cruelty after the pooch was found injured and frightened in an abandoned house in Easton, police said.
Stergios Vasiliou, 56, of 1383 Park Ave., turned himself in to Easton Police on Sept. 21.
The family notified neighboring town police departments about the missing dog, and Easton Police recently found the pup.
Vasiliou posted bond of $2,500 and was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
