The overdoses appeared be linked to crack cocaine that was laced with an opiate, police said.

The first three drug overdoses occurred between 8 and 9 a.m. Saturday, police said. The first occurred on Quaker Road, the second on Suncrest Road and the third on Perry Avenue, police said.

Two people died as a result, and the third remained in the hospital, police said.
