According to firefighters on the scene, who were able to get to the truck from Nichols Avenue, a pickup with the hood open and smoke coming from the engine compartment had pulled off the roadway. Engine 302 arrived on scene and used a booster line to hit some hot spots in the engine compartment.

Firefighters checked for possible extension of the fire and gathered the vehicle information for the report. Once the situation was under control, crews cleared and returned to service.
