Newtown Police Seeking Witnesses To Fatal Motorcycle Crash In January

NEWTOWN, Conn. — The Newtown Police is asking for help in its investigation of a motorcycle crash over the winter that killed a Southbury man.  

The fatal crash occurred on Mount Pleasant Road near Reservoir Road in Newtown, just west of the flagpole.

Michael Defusco, 42, was killed in the crash on Mount Pleasant Road/Route 25 in the area of Reservoir Road on Jan. 19. 

Police are now looking for witnesses to the crash and the first people who arrived on the scene as they seek more information.

Police, Newtown Hook & Ladder and Newtown Ambulance responded to the scene at 3 p.m. and found Defusco's heavily damaged motorcycle, a 2011 Harley Street Glide, in the southbound lane of Mount Pleasant Road.

Defusco was found down the embankment of the southbound shoulder, police said. Paramedics determined that Defusco was deceased due to the extent of his injuries suffered in the crash.
