Monroe Police Department Celebrates Promotions

MONROE, Conn. -- Three Monroe police officers officially were promoted Wednesday during a swearing-in ceremony at the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Among those to step into new roles with the department were Sgt. Mike Sweeney, Lt. Steve Corrone and Capt. Keith White.

All three officers were sworn in by Sandy Stochmal, assistant to Police Chief John Salvatorre, who also was in attendance.

The department honored the officers in a Facebook post Thursday, offering "Congratulations and best of luck in future endeavors."
