Troy Amarante, 40, of Jennifer Lane, was charged with sixth-degree larceny and held on $25,000 bond, police said.

On Feb. 5, Amarante loaded up a Walgreens carry basket with containers of formula and walked out of the store without paying, police said.

Employees saw him get into a gray Mini Cooper, police said.

Two days later a man walked out of a CVS in Fairfield without paying for six 4-packs of Red Bull and fled in a gray Mini Cooper. Witnesses there were able to get the license plate number, which was registered to Amarante, police said.

On Tuesday, Westport police arrested Amarante, who was in custody at Branford Police Department.

He is scheduled to appear on the charges in Norwalk Superior Court on June 21.
