Francisco Diaz Gravez of Stamford turned himself in on Wednesday on a warrant for charges of reckless driving, misuse of plates, no insurance, operating an unregistered vehicle, and driving a motorcycle without a motorcycle license, said Stamford PD Sgt. Andrew Gallagher.
The charges come after a lengthy investigation by the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad into the crash that left the 44-year-old driver of the other vehicle injured, and Gravez with life-threatening injuries.
The investigation found that during the crash, a 2001 Chevrolet Venture van was turning left from East Main Street eastbound onto Quintard Terrace northbound when Gravez, driving a 2003 Honda CBR600 motorcycle traveling westbound on East Main Street collided with the passenger side of the van, Gallagher said.
Gravez was processed and released on $5,000 surety bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 27.
The collision was investigated by Officer Jeffrey Booth and Sgt. Gallagher.
