Police received several 911 calls around 6:15 p.m. when the Fairfield resident attempted to run across the street to his parked car near the Bridgeport border at Shoreham Village Drive, police said.

Early reports show he was struck by a westbound car driven by a 72-year-old Bridgeport resident, police said.

The driver, whose car was seized, stayed at the scene and did not appear to be impaired or speeding, police said.

Members of the department’s Traffic/Crash Reconstruction team blocked parts of the roadway Monday morning as they continued their investigation.

No charges have been filed.
