MONROE, Conn. — Personnel from the Stevenson Volunteer Fire Company came to the rescue when a car ended up in the murky depths of Lake Zoar in Monroe.

No one was injured and no one was trapped in the vehicle, but the black Infiniti was fully underwater in the incident on Wednesday evening.

At about 6:30 p.m. Stevenson Volunteer firefighters responded to the boat ramp. They secured the vehicle and assisted the towing company in removing it from the lake.

The incident happened near the Stevenson Dam.

There was no explanation given for how the car ended up in Lake Zoar.
