Police received a 911 call on the night of Saturday, July 8 from someone who reported that she had been receiving numerous calls from her mother's ex-boyfriend, 46-year-old Mark Steinfeld of Fairfield. Steinfeld had been arrested in February for domestic violence at the residence, police said.

The person who received the phone calls said that Steinfeld was swearing and scaring her, and that her mother was not home, according to police. She also said there is a protective order against Steinfeld, ordering him to not have any contact with anyone in her family.

She said that Steinfeld sounded drunk and was saying "mean things," according to police. She said that Steinfeld then called her personal cell phone and continued his rants, police said.

Police applied for a warrant for Steinfeld's arrest, and on Monday, July 10 he turned himself in to Easton Police. He was charged with second-degree harassment and disorderly conducted. He was processed and taken to the Bridgeport courthouse that same day.
