EASTON, Conn. --A former Easton Volunteer Emergency Service EMT is facing a first-degree larceny charge, according to the Easton Courier.

The recently terminated EMT, Andrew Rosenthal, 47, a Milford resident, was arrested after turning himself in Sunday, Easton Police Chief Tim Shaw told the Easton Courier.

He is accused of buying personal items with "EMS reward points" to reduce the price or cover the cost entirely of the item, Shaw said to the Easton Courier.

Police were made aware of the purchase "discrepancies" in February, Shaw reportedly told the Easton Courier.
