EMT Charged With Assault In Ambulance Fracas, Monroe Police Say

MONROE, CONN. -- An emergency medical technician is facing assault charges after Monroe police said he bashed a patient on the head with an iPad, according to a report by The Connecticut Post.

Alejandro Ramirez, 44, of Naugatuck, is also accused of grabbing the patient by the throat during a heated argument in the ambulance that was transporting the man to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, The Connecticut Post reported.

Ramirez works for Portland-based Emergency Resource Management, The Connecticut Post article said.

Police said the patient a small scrape on his forehead, The Connecticut Post reported.
