TRUMBULL, Conn. — A trapped driver was pulled from the wreckage of a car early Sunday after going down an embankment off the Merritt Parkway in Trumbull, according to the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company.
At 3:17 a.m., crews from the Nichols and Trumbull Center Fire Departments were dispatched to a car crash on the Merritt Parkway south at Exit 52, said a Facebook post from the Trumbull Volunteer Fire Company.
Troopers from the Connecticut State Police were also on the scene, where a car was down an embankment with one victim trapped inside, the post said.
The car was 125 feet off the road down a very steep embankment, the post said.
The occupant was freed about 45 minutes later.
Crews encountered heavy brush, steep terrain, and moderate rain throughout the operation. Responding units on the scene included: Nichols Fire Department, Trumbull Center Fire Department, Trumbull EMS, Connecticut State Police and Trumbull Police.
