Brookfield Police Investigating Serious Accident On Route 25

BROOKFIELD, Conn. — Brookfield police were investigating a serious crash Sunday night that closed down Route 25 for a couple of hours.

The Brookfield Accident Investigation Team was on the scene of what police called a "serious accident" in the area of West Whisconier and Whisconier Road/Route 25, police said in a Facebook post at about 8 p.m.

The accident scene was cleared about two hours later, and Route 25 was reopened. 

The incident remains an ongoing investigation by the Brookfield Accident Investigation Team.

Traffic was diverted while the road was closed, with northbound traffic from Newtown turned around at Fawn Ridge and southbound traffic from the center of Brookfield sent down West Whisconier.
